Bespoke Espresso Machines

Start a Design Conversation

The reason we are here, why Specht exists, is to craft striking, bespoke home espresso machines for all who desire to go beyond what the world typically has to offer.

We will take you on a journey from initial design ideas, through to a final design that can be either very close to, or completely different from where we started out.

The time and care we put into each machine produces details big and small. While each refinement alone is impressive, when put together they make for a machine that is an experience to use, not just to look at - though we are certain it will catch the hearts of all who lay eyes on it.

The sum is a feeling or emotion that only a Specht machine will give you.

Design

An excellent espresso machine is one thing, but one that suits your style, of both your home interior and of the coffee you drink, requires special attention.

To start, we ask that you begin a design conversation with us by answering a brief questionnaire. This will give us a broad-stroke idea of what your ideal machine may be.

From there Daniel Schonknecht, the Founder of Specht, will respond to discuss further ideas and set a course for your dream machine design. Ideally this conversation is over the phone, but for our family in the farthest corners of the globe, this can also happen over email.

Anything you want, you can have.

Sure, we can replicate the designs you may have seen on our Instagram profile. But do you want parts of your machine upholstered in a Chanel dress you found in Hong Kong? We can do that too, and in a way that ensures it grows in character while standing the test of time.

Crafting

Once your design is perfected, the crafting begins. Our meticulous craftsmen invest weeks into the creation of your Specht machine.

We strive to showcase the best of Melbourne, Australia, through the elements and materials chosen for each machine; Time has shown that the work of our community's artisans consistently delivers the finest quality and results.

During this time, Daniel may have further strokes of brilliance and suggest slight revisions to the original design - considerations that come about from seeing the physical machine.

Delivery

While anticipation of your Specht's arrival grows, we keep you informed and up to date on its progress. Generally, our crafting timeline is 12-16 weeks, because when we say crafted, we mean hand crafted, just for you.

Once your dream Specht is complete and has passed a rigorous, five-day stress test, it is safely sent to you anywhere in the world.

Making Great Coffee

Unbox and enjoy the moment of having a perfect Specht machine, made just for you. From here, all that is left to do is make an amazing coffee.

Our clients range from professional baristas through to first-time home espresso drinkers, and span the globe, united by a desire to make world-class coffee at home.

Specht machines are capable of creating the most complex, delicious coffee in the world, and we want to support our customers to do exactly that.

Whether it is improving upon your milk steaming, so that you consistently create velvety smooth milk that keeps its sweetness, or understanding dialing-in and pressure profiling to get the most from single origin beans, or if it is your first home espresso machine and you want to start with the basics, we can empower you to do that.

Making great coffee is a process, so we have partnered with Home Barista Coach to support you remotely, wherever you are in the world, with training or any questions you might have. After all, it may be the very first time you have worked with a machine of this kind.
