The Design

This spectacular Kees van der Westen Spiritello is finished in a durable, deep emerald color. Its green hue is a striking departure from traditional espresso machine aesthetics, making its sculptural presence all the more captivating. Our color coating process ensures this masterpiece is resilient through years of heat and moisture exposure from regular brewing.

Interactions with its towering lever are mediated through a ribbed, hand-finished walnut grip. The portafilter handle and tulip steam knob are also carved from this prized wood variety. Fine grain structure and warm chocolate-brown tones are a deliberate counterpoint to the cool precision of metallic elements. Each walnut piece is selected for color consistency, shaped to ergonomic perfection, and sealed with food-safe wax and oil that protects, while preserving natural tactile qualities.

Aged brass is introduced as a bridge between the warmth of walnut and the richness of emerald. Gauge bezels, wands, lever componentry, the drip tray and other select details contribute to the layers of visual complexity.

It is renowned for delivering thorough pre-infusion and diminishing extraction pressure to achieve what is widely considered an ideal extraction. Each espresso becomes an effortless expression of the coffee's inherent character, now crafted through Specht's distinctive design vocabulary.

The generous steam boiler, powered by twin heating spirals with PID control, delivers powerful, sustained steam performance for professional-grade milk texturing.

Each one of the 139 individual elements that receive the Specht touch, down to the last aged brass screw, is crafted to bring joy to all who encounter it. The Idrocompresso Lever Group

An innovative cylinder and piston assembly sits entirely within the Spiritello’s group, surrounded by the water that will flow precisely into the brewing chamber. The piston's construction ensures absolute thermal neutrality - no heat loss, no residue accumulation, only pure extraction.

Corrosion-resistant Stainless Steel Dual Boiler System

Both the 0.8-liter coffee boiler and the substantial 3.5-liter steam boiler are crafted from marine-grade stainless steel (316), offering superior resistance to aggressive water. The coffee boiler and group are unified, PID-controlled for exacting temperature stability. Cold water undergoes pre-heating through a heat-exchanger with a hot-cold cross-flow system before entering the coffee boiler, ensuring the compact coffee boiler maintains its target temperature with remarkable precision, even under demanding use.

Plug & Play Simplicity

The Emerald requires only a power connection and water reservoir filling to begin operation. The built-in reservoir and quiet internal rotary pump offer immediate functionality, while included fittings provide the option for direct plumbing to water mains and drainage.

Intelligent Control

A circular display is accompanied by an intuitive push-turn knob on the machine’s face. Access eco mode, customize settings, and monitor a shot timer that automatically appears when the lever is engaged. The home barista has complete control over pre-infusion pressure via an adjustable pressure reducer, ranging from 1.5 to 4 bar.
